New York City, New York Proposals
Style: Documentary
Originally, Harsh and I had talked about Bethesda Fountain for his Central Park proposal. I’m so glad we switched locations to Cop Cot gazebo, not only because of the drizzling rain but because it’s such an intimate part of the park– we were able to avoid a lot of the usual Central Park crowd, and Fleur Luxe was able to set up a dreamy, personal scene of peachy roses, peonies and chrysanthemums to match the park’s blooming pink April cherry blossoms. Close family came from Queens to celebrate the couple, surprising Krisna almost as much as Harsh did with the ring.
The one thing Harsh knew he wanted for this day was the flowers– being from Chicago, it was a challenge to find good vendors in New York– so I’m grateful that my professional wedding industry network came into play when Aisha at Fleur Luxe recommended me to shoot the proposal! One of my favorite parts of my job is working with a wide range of talented vendors at every stage of the wedding journey. Because of my ever-growing network, I can help couples get to those essential next steps in wedding planning. From videographers and content creators to florists and makeup artists, caterers and DJ’s to officiants and even venues, I’m proud to recommend my talented colleagues and always enjoy working with new people. (Need help finding wedding solutions? Ask for my list of recommended vendors here .)
The best thing about proposals is that couples are truly in the moment, allowing me to authentically capture one of the most intimate times of their relationship. As I mentioned in my recent Instagram post, I always encourage my couples to use a documentary photography style that focuses on shooting their special day as it happens and not trying to hit a long shot list that takes all of the joy out of some of the happiest times of their life. Relax and let the photos tell the real story of your love!
I’m so glad I got to be a part of Harsh and Krisna’s wedding journey. The way they looked at each other under the umbrella seemed to make the cherry blossoms in the park bloom just a little bigger and smell just a little sweeter. Congratulations to the happy couple– take a look at the beginning of their forever below.
