Long Island, New York Weddings

Just a few days before Christmas, we were brought to Smithtown, Long island to capture a very unique type of love story that was not only genuine and organic but gave a feeling of nostalgia and timelessness, as if their love connection and marriage was foreseen and always meant to happen. It was gloomy Friday in New York but still the most perfect way to the end the week. Mike being an aspiring Fire Fighter was just in the midst of finishing the New York City Fire Academy, with a background in education and Danielle being a Nurse and having a background in Healthcare showed us the traits of their character in being completely loving and selfless to others and especially to each other. Their vows read during the church mass in Danielle’s childhood church in Smithtown was nothing short of wholesome as even us- the photographers and videographers were teary eyed. After the ceremony we reflected this emotion through various romantic portraits between bride and groom through the use of dramatic angled lighting, which just felt natural and a true testament to their comfortability and love with each other. It’s almost as if we weren’t there, just them fully in tune with one another.

After getting a few drone photos and video of Danielle and Mike walk out of the church we took a ride to the extravagant Bourne Mansion located in Oakdale, just 30 mins south of Smithtown as I rode with them in a party bus sharing good times with the newly married couple. A mix of digital and film photography, flash styles, videography and working side by the growing use of content creation made this wedding one to truly hold a standard for all of my future weddings. Every single thing about Danielle & Mike’s evening just felt perfect and in tune with the nature in love they share with each other and with their family and friends. It is easily a feeling that you could be taken back to through these images. From portraits in the classic-looking bar with the checkered floor, to the messages left to the bride and groom on a vintage telephone, the butterflies Mike had from Danielle revealing her second dress to him, Danielle’s bouquet toss from the ballroom’s balcony to the endless partying and dancing, this was easily one of our favorite weddings to date.

Take a look for yourself-
